Executive Assistant- Washington, DC – Government Relations Ally Financial Inc. is a leading automotive financial services company powered by a top direct banking franchise. Ally's Commercial Finance unit provides financing to middle-market companies across a broad range of industries Responsibilities • Handle travel arrangements for the Chief Public Policy Officer (CPPO). • Answer phones, arrange meetings, and use Outlook Calendar to manage CPPO’s calendar and contacts. • File expense reports in a timely and accurate manner in Concur and follow all directives of the global expense policy. • Employ strong attention to detail and organizational skills to accurately track, process, document, and file federal and state lobbying reports on behalf of AFI. • Assist CPPO in raising internal awareness of lobbying policy by developing PowerPoint presentations and scheduling internal awareness events. • Provide support and project assistance to the Director of State Government Relations and other government relations staff. • Manage the efficient operations of the office including but not limited to handling external vendors, managing supplies and processing invoices. • Manage contracts and invoice payments for external government relations consultants. • Develop and publish weekly newsletter. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience supporting a high-level executive, preferably in a government affairs environment. • Excellent written (including proofreading and editing) and oral communication skills. • Ability to think proactively, take initiative, and ask good questions to complete a project. • Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. • Maintain a customer service demeanor at all times. Able to build rapport and provide assistance to external consultants as well as internal staff. • Strong interpersonal skills: articulate, confident and able to express oneself in a concise and effective manner. • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and use discretion in communication with both internal and external clients. • Demonstrated proficiency in computer technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required. Outlook Calendar proficiency required. Ability to quickly learn software and internal programs required to complete tasks. Working at Ally is Rewarding!
